A fantastic morning for Year 1 and 2 with Hands on History

Year 1 and 2 were ecstatic to welcome Mr Stok to Pre-Prep last Wednesday for a fun day of Hands on History.

The classroom was set ablaze with imagination as Mr Stok continued to ignite the Year 2s passion for the Great Fire of London topic they have covered this term. Sparks of interest were flying as the children looked at real artefacts recovered from the fire and had a go writing with a quill and ink!

The Year 1 children had a wonderful hands on experience as part of their topic Home Sweet Home, when Mr Stok visited bringing some fascinating items from the past; before homes had electricity. They had a go at household chores such as dusting, carpet beating and sweeping and particularly enjoyed ‘sharing’ a bath in an old tin bath before tackling the laundry with a traditional washing dolly.
