On Tuesday Year 1 set off in good spirits to Gore Farm, singing songs from “The Greatest Showman” in the mini bus on the way.
We explored the farm, cuddling the day old chicks, feeding Summer, Spring, Autumn and Winter, the hungry lambs. We went on to give the calves their milk and perhaps the highlight for many was making the pigs dance as the children scratched their backs! After a hearty picnic lunch we headed off for our tractor ride to the fields where we studied how plants grow, looking at the wheat fields and the meadows where we collected wild flowers. The children were fascinated by the fossils they were able to collect in the dry field as we walked.
Our whole day was perfect from beginning to end.
