Year 1 set off on their first trip out, firstly to St Peters Church and then on to beautiful Stourhead.
After a snack and drink, we headed to the church and really enjoyed looking around, completing a treasure hunt of things to find both inside and out. This linked into our RE topic this term. The children were amazed that parts of the church were 700 years old.
When we came out, the sun was shining and we walked back for an early lunch. We were fascinated by the old trees and loved looking at Stourhead House, linking it to our topic of Houses and Homes.
Our adventurous walk around the lake was filled with fun, hiding in bushes, looking at all the spring flowers, helping to plant bulbs for next year and an enjoyable walk up to Apollos temple!
What a fabulous day out and very well behaved children. We had many comments from the public on how lovely they were! Best of all …it did not rain!
Hazlegrove PrePrep children are happy children…
