A spectacle of colour, a dash of sparkle and a symphony of song, the Pre-Prep children put on a wonderful show in salute of our magnificent Harvest.

The audience were enthralled as the Pre-Prep performed a special assembly to celebrate Harvest.
The Nursery children started the proceedings by delighting the audience as they acted out the story of ‘The Lonely Scarecrow’ and sang ‘Autumn Leaves’. The Reception class followed with a performance of ‘The Little Red Hen’ followed by a very catchy rendition of ‘Mr Scarecrow’. Year 1 looked adorable wearing the sun headdresses they had made to be the ultimate superhero ‘Super Sun’.
Year 1 and 2 have been learning their dances separately with Mrs Arnold in their dance lessons and put them together, dancing with great focus for the assembly. Year 2 sang ‘A Picture of Autumn’ and everyone joined in to sing ‘All Things Bright and Beautiful’ before we ended our assembly with some Year 2 children reading prayers. It really was a very fitting celebration. The children clearly enjoyed singing the songs that Mr Birch had chosen for them to learn with him in their music lessons.
Thank you for the contributions of harvest produce that decorated the theatre for the Assembly, and were put on sale in the band stand at the end of the day to raise money for the charity Mary’s Meals.
