Six weeks ago the Pre-Prep buried different materials in the Rainbow Room garden. With great excitement these items were dug up during Earthwyz week.
The children were fascinated to see what had happen to the banana, pears, oranges, apples, carrots and bread. We realised that over time these items could be easily transformed into compost with the help of the worms. The plastic items stayed the same, the tin cans and bottle tops showed no change. The children recognised the importance of how we deal with our rubbish and began to understand those three key words; reduce, reuse, and recycle.
